Directing Opportunities

Bring Your Vision to the Barnstable Comedy Club

The Barnstable Comedy Club is looking for directors for our upcoming mainstage season!

We welcome applications from directors with a strong artistic vision and a production they would like to bring to the BCC stage. Our mainstage season typically includes a musical, a comedy or farce and a drama.

What the BCC Provides

Directors are supported by the resources of our all-volunteer community theater, including:

  • Volunteer actors, crew, production & marketing support
  • Sets, costumes, props, and set dressing
  • Lighting and sound resources
  • Rehearsal and performance space
  • A community of theater artists & volunteers invested in bringing productions to life

Who Can Apply?

We require previous directing experience, but recognize that theater experience takes many forms. If you are newer to directing, we will consider substantial transferable experience such as assistant directing, stage management, or other production leadership.

Application Timeline

November 15, 2026 — Application Deadline
No later than March 30, 2027 — Directors Notified
Directors will be asked to present a brief overview at a board meeting.
Early May 2027 — Season Announced
